Koko, the gorilla that spoke sign language very fluently, has had a pet kitten or two. A book was written about her& her cat “All Ball”.
You can see the love on several utube videos filed under “koko gorilla kitten”.
In nature, love can transcend species, in humans we are still working on transcending colors and religions…who is “dumber”?
well… it is not just about language i think, you know there is a whole lot of theories in philosophy about that and actually they even make difference between middle age human and nowaday human, 10 stages in total if i remember correctly. So my point is that humans have grown mentally a lot. Maybe in the beggining it was really like you say that there was no difference.
Spryte, I was thinking the same thing. Poor cat… hopefully someone can intervene and clear them up! Of course the monkeys are probably where he got them in the first place.

Perhaps the monkey got some eye problems that she/he mistakenly perceived the cat as her/his child

How do you know they didn’t just want a pet? This is really fascinating though, I’ve never heard of anything like this.

i love how humans have the arrogance to put themselves above the animal kingdom.
humans have language, but besides that we’re not much different from these monkeys.
